The Hunger Games: The Mockingjay Part 1 movie review
by Max Gonzales

I just got back from the movie theater on Saturday afternoon after watching “The Hunger Games: The MockingJay Part 1“ and I have a few things to say about this movie. This movie is a science fiction adventure film and is a very popular movie.
The story was about a 16 year girl named Katniss Everdeen and she is introduced to President Alma Coin, who  asks her if she will be the Mockingjay, a symbol of a rebellion that the 13 districts are throwing against the capitol of panem, a fictional post-apocalyptic country . Katniss watches the Tv where they are interviewing Peeta, who loves Katniss, and he warns everyone that the Capitol will attack District 13 and they rescue Peeta as he is about to die for telling them about their plan.
I liked Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss and I also liked Liam Hemsworth as Gale.I think that they both portrayed their characters very well. I think all the other actors did very well at playing their role and I don’t think anyone did bad to me.
I liked that this movie had a lot of action and would surprise you at certain points and I didn’t really like how it ended on a cliffhanger, but there will be a part 2 coming soon. I especially like the scene where Peeta suddenly attacks Katniss and eventhough I kind of flinched in my seat, it was surprised and unexpected.
This movie to me is directed to young viewers, like teenagers or young adults. I would recommend this movie to children or to friends. I wouldn’t recommend this movie to older viewers. The MPAA rating of this movie is PG-13. Overall, I thought this film was pretty good.
On a scale from 1 to 10, I would give this movie a 7 out of 10.

Thanksgiving Break to Start Friday Afternoon
By: Max Gonzales

Starting on the afternoon of Friday, 21, 2014, Thanksgiving Break will start for students at WHS and other schools in the Weld RE-4 district.
This will be a nice, long, 1-week break for all students to enjoy their Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday.
The break will start on the afternoon of Friday 21st, 2014 and school will be back in session on December 1st, 2014.
This break will be a nice way for students to relax and have a nice week away from school and maybe even to study or get caught up on late work.
Most people I’m sure are very excited for Thanksgiving, where we can eat a lot of good food like turkey and pumpkin pie, then go shopping for items at really good prices.
A lot of students at WHS have different plans over Thanksgiving Break, where some may hand out with friends, some may stay at home, and some may travel.
